What we offer as a childrens home

What we offer as a children’s home. We provide a safe home and caring environment for children in need, by nurturing and supporting them to reach their full potential. The Grange supports all of our young people in a fully therapeutic manner, including onsite equine therapy and assisted learning. Our staff are trained in Empathic Behaviour Management (EBM) applying the principles of the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy). Our residential care staff work collaboratively with psychology colleagues to ensure that the best outcomes are achieved for those young people with a history of trauma or adverse life experiences. Our team at the Grange provide a caring and nurturing environment, and individualised support for our young people, which is conducive to their therapeutic progression and achieving their goals.

The therapeutic garden and pond are a welcoming space for our young people seeking a peaceful and restorative environment. The combination of natural elements, including plants and water, generates a calming and healing atmosphere which is very beneficial for those dealing with stress, anxiety, or other mental health difficulties.
The pond in our garden serves as a focal point for relaxation and contemplation. The gentle sound of running water and the sight of fish and other aquatic life is soothing and calming, helping to reduce stress and anxiety. The presence of water also creates a sense of serenity and tranquillity, providing a peaceful escape from the chaos of daily life.

To further enhance the therapeutic benefits of our garden, we have incorporated comfortable seating areas and a variety of plants and flowers known for their calming and healing properties. Our garden is a welcoming space for people of all ages and backgrounds, and we encourage our young people and staff members to take the time to relax, reflect, and recharge in this tranquil environment.
